Michelle achieved a BA from Midwestern State University in 1996 with a major in Psychology and minor in Sociology. Michelle went back to school for teacher certification and was a teacher for two years. Michelle decided to begin graduate school at MSU in 2002. She obtained her Master’s degree in Education in 2005–school counseling. In 2006, she went back for more hours for general counseling. In August 2013, she became a licensed professional counselor supervisor to supervise LPC-Associates. Michelle started working in private practice in 2014. Michelle is a fellow in thanatology (death, dying, & bereavement). She specializes in working in grief work & assisting others in their grief journey. In August 2019, Michelle started her doctoral journey. She is currently a doctoral student in the psychology program with a specialization in trauma. She is expected to complete her Ph.D by 2023 from Walden University.
